What is The Citizens Academy?
The City is the Citizen

We are a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization. We help citizens learn together, connect with each other and take action on issues important to community well-being. We do this by providing them with the knowledge, tools and self-confidence to constructively engage both citizens and institutions in service of creating a better city.

What do we do?
That's a great question

To influence decisions, you need to know where decisions are made. We help you understand how to take a systems approach to the city we live in, leverage public engagement, and work constructively with local government and other organizations.

More about Learning

We believe the best discussions happen when diverse people share their ideas in a respectful environment. We provide a supportive and safe place to meet each other and discuss civic issues that matter to you, free from judgment.

More about Connecting

Citizens are ready to help shape their city. Our network provides ongoing support to your team with people who can help you transform your passions into action.
